Tour of Samsun 2026
Samsun will bring international road cycling to the Black Sea on August 27–30, 2026, as the Tour of Samsun 2026 International Cycling Race returns for its fourth edition. Over four days and a total distance of 590.2 kilometers, 107 athletes from 23 countries will race across one of northern Türkiye’s most varied sporting landscapes.
The race will begin in Doğupark in İlkadım, with the first stage covering 169.8 kilometers. Across the four-stage program, cyclists will move through routes connecting Samsun, Bafra, Ladik, Havza, Yakakent, and Terme, giving the event a strong regional identity. The course will not be only about distance; it will also test endurance, pacing, team tactics, climbing rhythm, wind management, and the ability to adapt as the road shifts from city energy to coastal sections, inland roads, and higher terrain.
What makes Tour of Samsun stand out is the way it opens the city beyond one postcard view. Visitors can connect the race weekend with the Atakum coastline, the Bandırma Ferry and National Struggle heritage, Amisos Hill, the natural richness around Bafra and the Kızılırmak Delta, the calm of Ladik, the thermal culture of Havza, and the Black Sea character of Yakakent and Terme. The food story is just as strong: Bafra pide (Bafra Style Crispy Closed Flatbread), Çarşamba pide (Çarşamba Style Boat-Shaped Flatbread), Çakallı menemen (Çakallı Style Turkish Scrambled Eggs), local ice cream stops, and Black Sea-style home cooking can turn the trip into a full regional experience. Even if you are not racing, you will still want to follow this event—because the Tour of Samsun will turn professional cycling into a four-day Black Sea journey where coast, history, inland towns, local flavors, and international competition move together.
