Bosphorus Cup 2026
Istanbul will celebrate a quarter century of sailing heritage on September 17–19, 2026, as Bosphorus Cup 2026 marks its 25th anniversary with three days of racing across the city’s most iconic waters. Recognized as one of Türkiye’s most established international sailing events, the Bosphorus Cup will once again bring professional and amateur sailors together in a race week where sport, lifestyle, maritime culture, and Istanbul’s global identity move as one.
The program will open with a Skippers Briefing on September 16 at Istanbul Sailing Club and online, before racing begins on September 17 in Kalamış and the Marmara Sea. On September 18, the fleet will move toward the Princes’ Islands and Büyükada for the Princes’ Palace Resort Race. The final day, September 19, will bring the signature moment: The Bosphorus Race, where sails will fill the strait between two continents.
Bosphorus Cup’s 25th year will be more than a competition. With anniversary celebrations, partner yacht parades, youth sailing energy, and a strong international profile, the event will highlight Istanbul’s deep connection to the sea. For visitors, the weekend will offer a rare sailing route through the city: Kalamış mornings, island views around Büyükada, and the unforgettable drama of yachts racing on the Bosphorus. Even if you are not on board, you will still want to be here—because the Bosphorus Cup turns Istanbul into a three-day sailing story, where the Marmara, the islands, and the Bosphorus each write a different chapter.
