2026 Formula Wing World Championships

Istanbul will bring world championship energy to the water on August 10–15, 2026, as the 2026 Formula Wing World Championships takes place in Kadıköy. Organized by Fenerbahçe Sports Club in conjunction with the International Wing Sports Association (IWSA), the event will gather top Formula Wing athletes for a week shaped by wind, speed, balance, and tactical racing.

Formula Wing is fast, technical, and visually striking. Athletes read the wind, control the wing, manage the board, and make split-second decisions while racing across the water. From the shore, the sport feels alive: sails moving against the skyline, riders cutting through the waves, and every race carrying the energy of Istanbul’s summer coast.

Kadıköy will make the championship even more special. Between races, visitors can walk the Moda coastline, spend time around Kalamış and Fenerbahçe, catch a ferry across the Bosphorus, explore lively cafés and streets, or watch the sunset from the Asian side of the city. Even if you are not competing, you will still want to be here—because Formula Wing in Kadıköy means world-class wind sport, sea air, Istanbul ferries, and a summer rhythm that only this city can create.
